Mysteries Unveiled
Welcome to the Gatlinburg Podcast.
The Gatlinburg Podcast is produced in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and featured on Gatlinburg Radio, but the stories we explore reach far beyond one town. From the ridges of the Great Smoky Mountains to the long path of the Appalachian Trail, these mountains have always carried stories that refuse to disappear.
Appalachia is one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth. Long before highways, tourism, and modern towns, people lived deep in these hills and passed their stories down through generations. Some of those stories are history. Some are folklore. And some remain unexplained.
Each episode of the Gatlinburg Podcast explores the voices, legends, and mysteries of the Appalachian Mountains. Old mountain families. Forgotten communities. Strange encounters in the deep woods. Unusual sightings along the Appalachian Trail. Places where something happened — and no one ever fully explained why.
Many of these stories have been told quietly for decades around kitchen tables, campfires, and front porches. Others are buried in local archives, old newspapers, or memories that never made it into history books.
From Gatlinburg, our home base in the Smoky Mountains, the Gatlinburg Podcast follows the spine of Appalachia — sharing the culture, the people, the folklore, and the mysteries that still live in these mountains.
Because in Appalachia, the mountains are old.
And some stories in these hills never really go away.
